NABCRMP Health Care Compliance Scholarship

The National Association of Black Compliance & Risk Management Professionals (NABCRMP) is proud to announce the Health Care Compliance Scholarship Fund, generously sponsored by Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.

This scholarship supports individuals who are pursuing or advancing careers in health care compliance — a vital and evolving field dedicated to promoting ethical practices, ensuring regulatory adherence, and safeguarding patients and organizations alike.

Our goal is to help remove financial barriers and promote greater representation of Black professionals in compliance leadership roles across the health care industry.

A total of $2,500 in scholarship funding will be awarded to three outstanding applicants:

• Two awards of $1,000
   
• One award of $500
   

• Applications Open: October 15, 2025
   
• Deadline to Apply: April 15, 2026 (Deadline Extended)
   
• Winners Announced: April 30, 2026
   

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a NABCRMP member in good standing (dues current). Preference will be given to members of the Healthcare Compliance Industry Workgroup (HCIW).
    
2. Have an active career in health care compliance or be working toward one.
    
3. Submit two letters of recommendation.
    
4. Include a current resume or CV.
    
5. Submit an essay/personal statement addressing why you are interested in healthcare compliance and how you plan to impact the field. 
6. Provide a statement of intent describing how the scholarship funds will be used (e.g., tuition, books, certification, advanced training).
    
7. Be willing to participate in an interview with the Scholarship Committee (co-chairs of the NABCRMP Healthcare Compliance Industry Workgroup and NABCRMP Leadership).
    
8. Preference will be given to members of NABCRMP.
